replacing both with new will be far easier than trying to separate the connection even though it "should" be a simple task of pushing in the plastic release part, but then nothing on the Fiat is that easy where rusting/corrosion is? Mainly used for brake and clutch lines where, due to its small size,the weight penalty is not too significant. I don’t know whether the hydraulic fluid in the lines is stopping me pushing it shut or if it’s something else. The Early fitting was either built with a black rubber lip or was fitted with a small but Fat O-ring, the early pipe has a small swaged mushroom on its tip and the white nylon collar squshes the O-ring against this tip, later pipe has a collar swaged about 10-15 mm along its shaft and the split nylon plug expands to clip over this collar.

Due to its very low ratio of expansion to pressure, this hose has proved to be ideal for use on flexible lines in competition vehicle braking and clutch systems providing a desirable hard pedal with reduced travel.Care must be taken in fitting to ensure that the hoses do not contact any moving part under conditions of extreme suspension travel and/or full steering lock.
