The author does an excellent job of summarizing the details of the previous book so that you understand there’s a connection but each book is great so you would enjoy getting the full story from the previous book. I loved reading about the wyvern- who wouldn’t want to soar upwards on a dragons back - and the story has a strong message of family not always being blood relations but their support being essential to a happy life. The series also offers a source of belonging to LGBTQ+ people of faith within the Disciples and beyond; to hear from other LGBTQ+ people who are Christians about their experiences with scripture that are liberating, meaningful, and hopeful.

Within the pages of this book, however, the depth and beauty of LGBTQ+ spirituality, and how God continually leads us to color outside the lines of tradition, bleeds through each page. To me, this could mean almost anything, not just in the fictional world that the author chose to present it. The next warm color on our list, orange, has a few similar associations to red: energy, boldness and brightness.
