In her first foray into the Wizarding World, she edited and contributed to the New York Times best sellers Harry Potter: Film Wizardry and Harry Potter: Page to Screen. Author of "Harry Potter The Creature Vault", "Harry Potter The Book of Magical Places" and "Harry Potter The Characterf Vault", as well as several Disney titles. I created a handful of different shapes and used another particle system to distribute them over the shoots on top.

Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. Presumably, they were still part of that version, and at the time this drawing was created, they simply hadn’t yet decided to raise the quad, add the new arch, remove the cloister and fountain, etc. I’ll round out today’s post with some untextured orthographic views of the entire Prisoner of Azkaban model as of this moment. I haven’t built the astronomy tower yet as of this writing, but this drawing is going to make it a cinch. In a twist that will shock precisely zero longtime readers, I’m finding lots of small discrepancies between shots of miniatures, location shoots at Alnwick Castle, CG long shots, etc.

I do have one partial floor plan, but the whole Great Hall/boathouse area is all wrong, as is the quad interior. Note the lack of even the small HBP training grounds tower, the dotted outline of the old DADA tower to be removed, and the more detailed plan of the new astronomy tower. This has been up on YouTube for a bit but I’ll include it here in case you’re crazy enough to not have already subscribed there. I’ve been eager and afraid to tackle it because of its complex geometry and the limited reference available.

Fortunately, I’m not as much of a perfectionist as I used to be, so I pressed onward, accepting the fact that close comparisons with the original Hogwarts miniature would still reveal small discrepancies. Moving from the castle’s ground floor to its highest peaks, I started playing around with tower size and placement, since these will greatly impact the overall look and layout of the castle. In some shots in the early films, you can very unambiguously see straight through from one side to another, but in some photos of the miniature from the Warner Bros. Welcome to r/HarryPotter, the place where fans from around the world can meet and discuss everything in the Harry Potter universe! It roughly corresponds to the cobbled inner courtyard at Alnwick Castle, which was actually used in the location shoots for the first film, but the version in the miniature is much smaller and it has a different shape because of the way the Alnwick floor plan was reconfigured around it. GabeWillard -- I'm terrible at math so I wouldn't begin to muster a guess, and I don't know the scale from canon or J. This is where I started getting a little overwhelmed with this side project and stopped working on it.
