About this deal

So ‘King was always better-looking than ‘Towers, even if the difference between those two film presentations was always negligible in comparison with the difference between ‘Towers and ‘Fellowship. After all, many fans will already know – from having trawled through the ‘Ring extra features – how much control filmmakers now have over colour timing, and how Jackson’s approach has always been to not just ‘make the whole movie more green’ but, indeed, change the tone of specific objects in scenes – greener grass, bluer skies etc. Themes of industrialization versus the beauty and serenity of nature, the lust for power and the corruption it causes (over and over again, a vicious circle of sorts), on both the body and soul, and the blind, selfless heroism of those from whom it is least expected are pounded away early and often, but in a manner that isn't slap-you-in-the-face blatant or obvious.

where everyone talks about the relief of having finished, the premieres, and (briefly) what's to come. Created by Filmmaker Costa Botes (Personally Selected by Peter Jackson) This Unique Film Uses Raw Footage to Reveal the Inside Story of the Greatest Film Franchise of All Time. But everything rests on Frodo getting that ring destroyed as both he and Sam come to think it will be the end of them. But while the main addition (the Boromir/ Godfather II sequence) is nice to see, it isn't as necessary.

Instead ‘Towers goes straight for the jugular, a much darker and more significant story that thus gets suitably oppressive filmwork. Also in this section is a still gallery for Abandoned Concepts, featuring the talked about Slime Balrog. offers an in-depth look at the New Zealand's team's work on the special effects, and on the design of the main villains, including the added Mouth of Sauron.

Again, there are conflicting reports over whether or not this new encode was struck from the same HD master as the original theatrical Blu-ray renditions, but – either way – the results are pretty comparable, and also pretty damn good. Would I have ideally liked some of the audio commentary material and documentary footage to have been pooled into an elaborate, impressive Picture-in-Picture track? With the forming of a Fellowship to help guide Frodo along his path to Mordor to destroy the ring where it was created, all races have put their fate and faith in their newfound Hobbit friend. Fans have long clamored for an Extended Edition Blu-ray release of director Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings, and some even cried foul when 2010 only brought the theatrical cuts to high definition. This summer, New Line and Warner Home Entertainment will bring the individual extended editions of the three films in director Peter Jackson's Academy Award-winning The Lord of the Rings Trilogy to Blu-ray. For Frodo to overcome the wickedness of Gollum, the horrifying attack of the colossal arachnid Shelob and the soul-twisting allure of a ring that resists destruction.
