What it’s like to use it: Osea’s body scrub is a product I reach for regularly, but it’s not my favorite. The scrub is gentle, providing exfoliation and leaving behind soft skin without feeling too harsh or gritty. However, it’s too soft at times and melts away in the bathtub before I can adequately scrub. I’d use this scrub again, but if you’re looking for a better exfoliator, I recommend the UpCircle Coffee Body Scrub with Lemongrass. What it claims: This serum claims to brighten the skin with vitamin C, smooth fine lines and wrinkles with niacinamide, and support the skin’s moisture barrier with ceramides from oat kernel extracts. The formula is available in a 1-ounce bottle and Osea recommends applying one to two pumps in the morning and at night. I FINALLY found the skincare I was looking for! It’s been quite a journey for me. My skin is dry and sensitive, and I decided to switch completely to OSEA.” For me, I want to get something that will give me multiple benefits like my lotions,” Jones says. “But, I really like to see an oil that has antioxidants. [They] protect the skin from free radicals, which [can] further damage and age your skin. I would say most people are not putting sunscreen on their bodies every day so, if they have body oil with antioxidants that is the next best thing. Look for these ingredients specifically: Jojoba oil, apricot seed oil, meadowfoam oil, sweet almond, apricot kernel, and hemp seed.” And she goes on to suggest avoiding “coconut oils on the skin” as the molecules are too large to penetrate the skin and are often comedogenic. Though I didn’t mind using the serum, particularly because its lightweight consistency is not bothersome, I’m not certain how much it combats signs of aging. My skin feels smooth and hydrated after use, but I didn’t notice any fading of wrinkles or brightening of my complexion in the two months I used it.

Based on the research conducted by this OSEA review, this unique skincare line is worth purchasing. The seaweed-based products are vegan, plant-based, and free of harmful chemicals which is hard to come by in average skin care products. The skin on the body is lower stakes than the skin on our face, but it’s still worth finding an oil blend that works for your concerns. Unfortunately, the pump on my bottle malfunctioned and wouldn't open, so I had to remove it each time I used the product. Other than that issue, the application process was fairly easy and seamless.

If body oils are not yet a part of your daily skincare routine, we suggest changing that sooner rather than later. We’re not saying you should eliminate lotions and creams from your line-up entirely, but rather that oil can be an excellent and useful addition and/or occasional substitute in your moisturizing M.O. “Lotions are formulated to hydrate, moisturize and sometimes heal the skin,” explains New York-based esthetician, Drew Jones. “But, I find using body oil enhances [these] results. About My Skin: Dry no matter the season Because this uses chemical exfoliants instead of physical, the cleanser doesn’t have a gritty, scrub-like texture, but I still saw exfoliating effects in the form of my pores appearing smaller. However, I used it in tandem with two Osea serums, which may have also contributed to these results. Rosehip oil is rich in essential fatty acids as well as vitamins A and C, making it a great option for preventing and treating scars, tightening pores, and promoting collagen synthesis in the skin.
