Description

The 4K60S+ is versatile too. If you're taking it on the road, you can power it separately, as noted by an external power source. Using it in this way, you can capture PC footage directly, without using the local PC hardware, which might otherwise impact game performance. At home, you can power it via USB-C to a USB-A port on your PC. This way, you can use it for streaming games as with other Elgato capture devices, or capturing footage directly to your PC from any device connected via HDMI. The audio for this source is now delayed by 200ms. The Advanced Audio Settings window can now be closed.

This mode sets the EDID of the capture device to the file defined by EDID (Internal) setting. In this mode the connected TV/Monitor capabilities are ignored. By default, the bitrate for a 4K (3840x2160p) input is 80,000 Kbps or 80Mbps. This equals about 36GB/per hour of recording. This mode combines the EDID of the connected TV/Monitor and the capabilities of the capture device to create an optimized EDID. HDMI cables vary in quality and speed. Make sure to use the HDMI cable that came with your Elgato Capture Device.

Portability is sadly out the question for now, so I would suggest looking into internal capture cards such as the AVerMedia Live Gamer 4K (review) or Elgato’s own 4K60 Pro (review coming soon) which performed far better than the 4K60 S+. For Elgato PCIe Capture devices, a full PC restart may be needed to finish a pending firmware update. If the update is not completed the capture card may not properly capture the incoming video signal. This function is for essentially turning off the device from OBS Studio or turning it on. This can be helpful if you’re experiencing issues as a way to soft reset the device. More information in #Troubleshooting. Configure Video

Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+ — All About SD Card Use

In this guide we’ll show you how to use your ElgatoGame Capture HD60 S+ with OBS Studio and configure the software to get the most out of your device for recording or streaming. While this guide is written for OBS Studio, many of the steps are the same for Streamlabs OBS.To record audio from a PC, the PC needs to output sound over the HDMI output of the graphics card. By default a PC can only output audio to one source at a time.

When you are recording and reach the end of the card capacity, Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+ will leave 90MB or so free so it can properly finish off the file. Afterwards the recording simply stops, but it will not be corrupted. This controls the bitrate and therefore quality of the audio of your stream. Between 128Kbps to 160Kbps is a good place to start. Looking at the hardware there are some key differences that can affect which you buy. The most obvious is that the AVerMedia Live Gamer Bolt requires Thunderbolt 3 to operate at all. If you don't have it, you can't use it, and that rules out a number of PCs, including virtually anything running on an AMD Ryzen CPU. Mic/Auxiliary Audio is for adding additional audio input sources. These could be USB microphones, Line-In inputs, or other inputs from mixing boards. Advanced

Recommended for : Use this setting if the Merged EDID mode is causing image issues with the attached display. To maintain a 120Hz output from PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S, the entire video signal chain and connected devices, such as the TV/Monitor and capture card need to be able to support 120Hz. Superior low-latency technology sends video from the capture device to software with near undetectable latency. The fact that this is the only Elgato capture device that can be powered in a standalone configuration is a big boost for people making content on PC potentially since game capture can often impede performance on some levels of PC hardware. Being able to offload that encoding to a separate device is a useful option, and well worth exploring. If you're a business or game studio looking to get rid of those incredibly expensive Atomos monitor capture devices, the Elgato 4K60S+ is your new best-in-class option. If you're a content creator who is frequently on the road, who doesn't want to rely on the capture solutions provided by an event, this is also an ideal option.
