The design of the camera is a little boxy, which will be appreciated by some, but perhaps not by others. The 10fps continuous AF/AE works beautifully when eye-tracking a person walking towards the camera, and it also did a great job with a tabby cat, although it struggled with a black cat when positioned slightly off-angle. That’s not an issue for many videographers who routinely focus manually, but it’s a little behind the times. One significant first scored by the A7S II for the A7-series, however, is the ability to record full HD footage at up to 120fps at 100Mbps (without pixel binning) for super-slow motion playback.

That’s because the A7 IV has Real-time Tracking AF and Eye AF from humans, animals and birds for both stills and movies.
